How Is The Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller (2012) Different Than Previous Strollers?

The new 2012 Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller has undergone similar upgrades and enhancements as the other Maclaren strollers. First and foremost the 2012 Quest stroller is now safety compliant all around the world meaning it meets the toughest safety standards for strollers in all areas and from all countries.

Impressive

Other than that there really are only slight differences from this year’s model over last years. For one the “Sport” seems to be slipping into oblivion. There isn’t a difference between the Maclaren Quest stroller and the Maclaren Quest Sport stroller other than color configurations as far as I can tell.

If you happen to want a color that is reserved for the “Sport” version then you will get the Sport stroller otherwise you’ll get the regular model which really is no different at all other than in name.

For that reason I am not actually distinguishing between the two anymore. In my opinion there is no difference between the Maclaren Quest Sport and Maclaren Quest strollers.

Reviews For The 2012 Maclaren Quest Stroller

I don’t own the Quest stroller so I can’t say anything with authority on this but I believe the Quest is an excellent stroller based on my close knowledge of the smaller Maclaren umbrella strollers.

Basically the smallest of the all, the super lightweight Maclaren Volo and the newly introduced and almost as small Globetrotter stroller are extremely small compared to the Quest but even still the Quest is still one of the lightest strollers on the market.

There is a middle-of-the-road option in the Techno but in my opinion even the Quest is small. If you need anything smaller than it you should simply go for the gold and get the Volo or Globetrotter.

This Maclaren 2012 Quest Stroller review is much better in terms of details, pros/cons, and answers to your frequently asked questions so I recommend giving that a look for more on why you may or may not want to buy the 2012 Quest stroller.

Where Can You Buy The 2012 Maclaren Quest Stroller

As you no doubtedly know the Maclaren brand is European and although they aren’t ultra high priced they don’t tend to be found for sale in most big box stores in the US. I am physically located in the US and I know. I’ve looked for them in stores like Babies R Us, Walmart, Target, Buy Buy Baby, and all the other options.

I have seen the Quest Sport stroller sold in a small handful of small independent boutique baby stores in my area but the easiest way to buy the Maclaren Quest stroller is online.

I tend to do a lot of shopping on Amazon and it’s listed there for sale for a good price. You can see current prices by clicking here. It can also be found at numerous other online retailers which specialize in high end baby items, strollers, and clothing.

The best price for the Maclaren Quest 2012 will frequently be Amazon. Many smaller online stores will occasionally have sales while some local shops may occasionally have the 2012 Quest stroller on discount but on the average Amazon tends to be the best.

In Europe your chances may be better at finding this in traditional retail stores but because that is out of my area of expertise I’ll leave you to your own laurels.

Overall the Maclaren Quest stroller is widely considered one of the best values for your money. It is small and lightweight compared to direct competition and it is a good price compared to the really expensive full sized strollers like the City Mini GT or the 2012 UPPAbaby Vista.

Although I do like this stroller I still think I’d like to own a bigger stroller for everyday use and keep a small Globetrotter for travel. But that’s just me.

How Heavy Is The 2012 Maclaren Volo Stroller?

For a few years now Maclaren ultra light strollers have been the lightest premium umbrella strollers on the market. UPPABaby would like to be the lightest but regardless what my local baby store salesperson tells me they simply aren’t the lightest.

The Gluxe weighs in at a whopping 11 lbs which sounds great until you compare it against the new Volo stroller.

The newest Volo (model year 2012) weighs only 8.8 lbs making it by far the lightest stroller for sale other than the cheap plastic umbrella stroller s that you wouldn’t trust your daughters good dolls in. :)

Amazingly the new Volo stroller is actually heavier than the 2011 Volo which only weighed 8.6 lbs. Presumably the differences went to beefing the stroller up a bit so that it could meet global safety standards; a new feat for all of the Maclaren strollers in 2012.

There are a good number of other light strollers on the market and although the G-Luxe is heavier I would still not say that it is the best.

I noted on my best stroller list that I believe the new Globetrotter stroller by Maclaren is the best lightweight umbrella stroller of 2012. It’s slightly heavier than the Volo but it reclines – that makes it better in my opinion.

The Best 2012 Maclaren Globetrotter Stroller Review

In April of 2012 the new Maclaren Globetrotter stroller is going to be released to the world. It is basically the same thing as the 2012 Volo stroller but will have a few more features.

The design of the cover will be very slightly different and the weight will be a tad bit heavier - it will weigh about 10.6 pounds compared to 8.8 for the Volo.

The major difference between the Volo and the Globetrotter stroller however will be the seat back for baby.

The Volo has a fixed position seat back but the Globetrotter will have multiple positions of recline so that you can make your baby or toddler more comfortable. Maybe your child needs to sleep and he or she can't do it well in the Volo; the reclining seat back of the Globetrotter may be just what you need.

The Globetrotter release date is slated for early April 2012 but the stroller will go on sale at different times and days depending on retailer and how early they recieve shipment.

Until this stroller actually hits store shelves I won't be able to experiment with it first hand but this Maclaren Globetrotter review is online for you to look at to get a first impression. Check it out and then come back here for my take when I finally get my hands on it.

Good luck with all your parenting! :)

When Is The 2012 Maclaren Globetrotter Going To Be Released

The Maclaren Globetrotter is a new stroller that is coming out in April of 2012. Maclaren has decided to introduce this stroller as an alternative to it's popular Volo stroller because many people simply love the small stroller style but want a little option when it comes to the seat recline positions.

The 2012 Volo has been out for a while but the Globetrotter is sure to be popular upon release. Check stores in early April for exact timing as every store will begin selling the Globetrotter at slightly different times.
